Ignited by the 2023 ACS BIOT annual meeting in San Francisco, the Bay Area Student Chapter is searching for its inaugural student leadership board. Ideal candidates would be early graduate students (1st-3rd year as of Fall 2023) who are especially interested in biotechnology. - President: responsible for running events organized by the Chapter, conducting monthly teleconferences, driving event planning between Officers on the Executive Committee, and providing updates on Student Chapter proceedings to the parent ACS BIOT Division.
- Vice-President: responsible for assisting the President in Chapter proceedings and planning Chapter programming and recording the events of the monthly meetings held by the Student Chapter and maintaining those meeting minutes.
- Recruiting/Communications Lead: responsible for actively recruiting new members to the organization, advertising Chapter events, and maintaining an active list of current graduate student members. This lead is also responsible for maintaining a list of industry contacts and will initiate new connections on behalf of the organization.
- Treasurer: responsible for keeping track of all group expenditures and revenues in collaboration with the parent ACS BIOT Division treasurer.
- Webmaster(s): responsible for maintaining all active electronic outlets utilized to advertise and promote the organization, including the Chapter Website, Twitter, and Facebook page. They are to keep these outlets up to date, uploading recent developments within the Chapter, news, and activities from Chapter events.
